This week we are learning about travel and transport - then and now. On Tuesday we read about the different kinds of transportation in the olden days (ever heard of hobbyhorses and boneshakers?). Then for Art, we did paper big rigs (see Usborne's Big Book of Playtime Activities). The kids cut strips of magazine paper. Then they glued the big paper squares together with the strips, glued on some big wheels and foil hubcaps. They were pretty excited about it.
Currently reading Dragons of Blueland (this one's not as interesting as the first two in the series for this age group, so it is taking us a little while to get thru the chapters -- we have about 3 to go). Then we will be reading King Arthur as part of our Medieval Times lessons.
Phonograms: #42 - eu
Tomorrow we will be doing another unit on transportation.
